Why in the hell does VW insist on installing a non-defeatable traction control system. They let you think you’ve turned it off, but in fact you haven’t. I finally made it up on the third attempt because the throttle actually did what my foot asked of it.

This snow was ridiculous. Like some sort of fine silt. I haven’t had that much difficulty since getting winter tires. And you can see by the pickup flying around me that a decent four wheel drive setup trumps winter tire equipped front wheel drive vehicle. Though the meddling Germans weren’t helping any.

In My old VSG, when you turn the ESP/TC off, that’s it. You’re on your own.

I think the R is the only one that allows you to turn it off completely. For this one you have to go into a damn menu to turn it off. I yearn for buttons.

I believe someone has made a kit to install a TC off button in one of the blanks around the shifter. I hate the menu diving as well so I’m considering buying the button, it’s $100 or so.
